Winning entry (2nd Place)
Winning entry (2nd Place)
This logo was created to compete in a logo competition held by a Malaysia corporation Berjaya group, creating a logo for a restaurant located in the 5 Star Berjaya Time Square hotel in Kuala Lumpur, the management decided to convert into a vegetarian restaurant and needed a new identity offering a new opportunity to all designers in logo development. Eventually, I had won 2nd place and really grateful my creation had been valued by the expertise.
Following is the artwork of my winning entry, my rationale is a all about "transformation", transforming a fine dining restaurant to a restaurant that serves vegetarian delicacies. To reflect my beloved country Malaysia which has a complex multiracial population, predominantly defined by three major ethnic groups: Malay, Chinese and Indian races, with diverse cultural backgrounds, I had incorporated a pattern design that combines indian. buddhism and islamic pattern designs, to depict vegetarianism is not really associates to a certain religious group.
As for the structure of the logo, I had placed the original corporate logo to the centre as the core of the new brand.
